Dr. Lanis obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Valparaiso, Chile in 2008, and completed a three-year residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Implantology at the University of Chile in Santiago. He also holds an advanced diploma in Marketing and Health Administration from University of Chile School of Business, and an advanced certification in Medical Education from Catholic University of Chile School of Medicine.

Dr. Lanis has been actively involved in the development of several advanced training programs in implant dentistry, including the ITI Scholar program at the University of Michigan. He is a renowned international lecturer in digital dentistry, oral implantology, and prosthodontics, and a fellow of the International Team for Implantology, where he serves on the Global Education Committee. He is also a member of the European Association for Osseointegration, the International College of Prosthodontics, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. Lanis has published numerous scientific articles in specialized journals and books and has collaborated as a scientific advisor with various dental implant companies worldwide. He is an expert in digital dentistry and has played a key role in the implementation of digital technologies and workflows in clinical practice and educational programs. Dr. Lanis is committed to advancing the field of implant dentistry through research, education, and clinical practice.

With an unwavering dedication to his field, Dr. De Souza pursued specialty training in periodontics and attained a master’s degree (MSc) in Brazil. His thirst for knowledge and excellence led him to be honored as a recipient of the prestigious International Team for Implantology (ITI) scholarship, which enabled him to conduct a fellowship program in implant dentistry at Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM).

Dr. De Souza is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry (ABOI/ID), a testament to his exceptional skills and expertise in implant dentistry. His commitment to advancing the industry is further demonstrated through his extensive research and prolific scientific writing, having authored or co-authored over 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals within the realms of periodontics and implant dentistry.

His primary areas of interest include exploring technology applications in implant dentistry, championing minimally invasive periodontal surgery, and advocating for the implementation of digital dentistry to optimize implant planning and clinical outcomes.

Dr. De Souza’s influence extends far beyond his publications; he has shared his knowledge and insights at numerous international meetings, speaking at esteemed organizations like the ITI, Osteology Group, Taiwan Academy of Implant Dentistry (TAID), Asia Pacific Academy of Implant Dentistry (APAID), European Academy of Periodontology (EAP), Academy of Osseointegration (AO), and The American Prosthodontic Society (APS).

Currently, Dr. De Souza serves as a professor of periodontics at Nova Southeastern University, contributing to the education and training of future dental professionals. He is also a partner at DevRight, a prominent national medical media group, where he is dedicated to teaching presentation skills and facilitating the integration of technology applications and developments in the field of dentistry.

Formerly practicing in Boston, Dr. De Souza provided his expertise in dental implant surgery, periodontal procedures, and gum and bone regeneration with various dental and specialty groups. In pursuit of a new chapter, he, along with his wife Paula and their son Daniel, recently relocated to Boca Raton, where they embrace the opportunity to enjoy year-round biking and soccer.

With an exclusive focus on implant dentistry, including surgical and restorative phases, as well as bone and soft tissue grafting procedures, Dr. Khouly’s expertise is highly sought after. He has received training from renowned institutions such as New York University, London University, and Oslo University, where he developed a unique approach to patient care. Driven by his pursuit of knowledge, he earned his DDS and master’s degree in tissue engineering, followed by three years of advanced program training in implant and comprehensive dentistry at NYU under the mentorship of Dr. Dennis Tarnow. Additionally, he obtained a PhD in biomedicine, specializing in sinus bone grafts, graduating summa cum laude and earning his International Doctorate Certification.

Dr. Khouly’s extensive clinical research in periodontics, implant dentistry, and related biomaterials has contributed to the advancement of the field. Beyond his enthusiasm and dedication as an educator and health care provider, Dr. Chambrone is also heavily involved in clinical research and evidence-based dentistry. He has published more than 180 manuscripts, 14 book chapters and three text books, including 7 commissioned systematic reviews for the American Academy of Periodontology and 3 for the European Federation of Periodontology. Dr. Chambrone currently serves as Section Editor of Clinical Research for The International Journal of Oral Implantology and Section Editor of Periodontics for the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry.

His contributions to periodontal plastic surgery include the development and refinement of advanced soft tissue techniques designed to improve flap stability, tissue thickness, and long-term predictability. He is the author of Tunneling, a reference dedicated to contemporary tunneling approaches in periodontal plastic surgery, and his work also includes the Belt & Suspenders® suture technique and the Micrografting Concept.

In addition, Dr. Avila-Ortiz is the Editor-in-Chief of The International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry (IJPRD), one of the most prestigious journals in the specialty.

Dr. Avila-Ortiz received his DDS and PhD from the University of Granada, Spain, followed by a Master of Science degree and a Certificate in Periodontics from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications and book chapters, contributing significantly to the advancement of evidence-based periodontal and implant therapy.

He is the co-author of the critically acclaimed textbook “TISSUES: Critical Issues in Periodontics and Implant-Related Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery,” which has been translated into multiple languages and is widely regarded as a definitive reference in soft-tissue management.
